Guidelines

Your PowerPoint slides should focus on the following three areas:

DESCRIPTION

  • Describe the (initial) product, service, or technology on which your business will be built.

  • Explain what your product, service, technology does and the problem(s) your business addresses or the need(s) it fills.

  • Describe the features (characteristics) and benefits of your product, service, or technology.

UNIQUENESS

  • Describe how your product, service, or technology is unique.

  • How does it differ from what is currently available to solve the problem(s) or fulfill the need(s) you are addressing?

your audience

  • Identify what community your product, service, or technology will serve, and if your direct audience categorizes as industrial, commercial, or consumers.

  • Describe your marketing strategy by identifying distribution channels, promotional efforts, and media.

NOTE ABOUT FUNDINg

Due to the law, Rule 506c, we request that you do not put anything in your presentation about funding requirements, or even mention that you are looking for funding. If anyone in attendance at the Idea Pitch event wants to discuss money or funding with you we recommend you respond, “Due to the new 506c regulations I cannot discuss this with you in a public setting, but I would like to continue this discussion at another time with you if you are available to meet privately.” That will protect you from any potential issues in regard to Rule 506c. More information on Rule 506c can be found here.
